Competitive Basketball

Grades 3-5

Registration packets are available at all YMCAs beginning August 1. Games played November through February primarily on weeknights. In YMCA Competitive Basketball we take team registrations. Teams are responsible for their own coach, uniforms and practice times. A 12 game guarantee that includes playoffs. Call 509-777-YMCA (9622) for more information, or e-mail kmathia@ymcaspokane.org.

Holiday Jamboree

Grades 3 - 8
The Holiday Jamboree is open to all YMCA, AAU and Upward Basketball teams. There will be separate boys and girls divisions for grades 3-8. Each team will play 3 games over 3 days during Christmas Break. All games take place at The Warehouse between 3:00pm and 9:00pm. Click HERE for registration flier. Grid Kids Fall Football

Grades 3-4, 5-6, 7 and 8

Registration begins in May. Games played September through October. YMCA Grid Kids Football is for boys and girls organized by your child�s grade and High School boundary. Teams practice three times a week at local schools or parks. Program fees include jerseys, equipment and facility fees. Games are played primarily on Saturdays, but may include Sundays and/or weeknights at local schools. Fees include use of helmet and shoulder pads, mouth piece, game jersey, referees and facility usage fees. Volunteer Coaches Needed!! For 7th and 8th grade registration call SYSA at 536-1800.

Flag Football

Grades 1-6

Registration begins in June. Games played September through October. YMCA flag football is for boys and girls organized by your child�s school and grade level. Teams practice once or twice a week at local schools or parks. Program fees include T-shirts, certificates, ribbons, referees and any needed equipment or facility fees. Games will take place on Saturdays at local parks or schools. Volunteer Coaches Needed!

Volleyball

Grades 5-6

Registration begins in August. Games played September through October. YMCA volleyball is for boys and girls organized by your child�s school and grade level. Teams practice once or twice a week at local schools. Program fees include T-shirts, certificates, ribbons, referees and any needed equipment or facility fees. Games will take place one day a week at local schools. Volunteer Coaches Needed!

Grid Kids Football Full Contact Skills Camp

Grades 3-6 (fall 2011)

Grid Kids Football and West Valley HS Football have teamed up to bring you Spokane's only Full Contact Skills Camp. Campers will be placed by age, experience/size and skill and will recieve 24 hours of instruction in offensive and defensive positions. Monday thru Thursday, June 27th - 30th, 2011 from 9am - 4pm at West Valley High School. Lunch is provide but campers need to bring their own water bottles. Equipment issue will be issued the first day of camp and will return it the last day of camp. Participants will then keep their equipment for the upcoming season. Football, practice jersey and daily lunch is included. Registration Deadline: 6/20

Spring Baseball

Grades K-4

YMCA baseball is for boys and girls and organized by your child�s school and grade level. Teams practice once or twice a week at local schools or parks. Grades K-2 utilize the pitching machine while Grades 3 & 4 are kids pitch. Program fees include T-shirts, certificates, ribbons, umpires and any needed equipment or facility fees. Volunteer Coaches Needed!

Registration Deadline: Friday, March 18th
Practices begin the week of March 28th
Weekly games on Saturdays, April 16th to June 4th (no games 4/23 or 5/28)
Early Registration Discount Fee: $85 (Premier Family Member $60)

Arena Football

Grades 5-6, 7 & 8

Teams are formed by grade and high school boundaries. Grades 5 & 6 are combined while grades 7 & 8 are seperate leagues. We are limited to 16 teams so sign up now! Priorty registration will be given to returning players if registered by February 25th. After that, participants will be place where space allows.

2011 Info:

Equipment Checkout will take place Tuesday & Wednesday, March 22/23 from 4:30 - 7pm at Kimmel Athletic Supply. Your coach will contact you regarding your teams assigned time.

Practices begin the week of March 28th. Each team will have one practice per week at the Shock Center and one or two practices per week at a local school. Your coach will determine practice times and locations.

Games take place on Friday evenings and Saturdays from April 15 - May 14. Each team will play 5 games at the Shock Center located at 3212 N Eden Road in the Spokane Valley.

Coaches Meeting is scheduled for March 15th, 5:30 - 8:30 pm at the YMCA Corporate Office. Your coach will contact you after the coaches meeting.

Fee: $175 (Premier Family Member $150) Fees include 5 games & 1 practice each week at the Shock Center, game jersey to keep, equipment usage (players provide their own white football pants).

Refund Policy: No refunds will be given after equipment checkout. Refund requests prior to equipement checkout will be subject to a $10 processing fee.

Summer Baseball

Ages 6-8

Machine Pitch Baseball for boys and girls ages 6 to 8 years. Teams Play 10 games on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning 6/28/2011 and are organized by school location. Teams practice once or twice a week at local schools or parks. Once games begin, practice is optional. Program fees include T-shirts, certificates, ribbons, umpires and any needed equipment or facility fees. Volunteer Coaches Needed!

Registration Deadline: Thursday, June 2nd.

Weekly games on Tuesdays & Thursdays beginning June 28

Y-Winners Summer Sports Camp

Ages 4-6

Y-Winners Sport Camp is designed to introduce boys and girls to the sports of Flag Football, Soccer, T-Baseball and Basketball. Campers will spend 2 days practicing each sport. Camp runs Monday - Thursday for 2 weeks.

Y-Winners

Ages 4-6

Y-Winners is specifically designed for pre-school aged children. The program runs for 5 weeks for 60 or 90 minutes depending on the sport; with the first half consisting of a team practice and the second half playing a �game� against another team. Teams are formed by local school boundaries and are assigned a volunteer coach. This program is designed for parent/child participation. Teams are kept small to ensure lots of instruction and playing time.

Sports Camp � Flag Football, Soccer, T-Baseball and Basketball. Children will participate in games and exercises designed to introduce them to YMCA youth sports. Eight days of fun, 2 days of each sport. Camps will be held at North, South and Valley.

Grid Kids Football Skills Camp

Grades 1-8
Spokane Shock players will be coaching. Emphasis will be on character development and skill building. Campers should wear shorts, rubber cleats if possible (no metal spikes) and t-shirts. Campers will receive a mouthpiece, camp shirt and a camp ball. The YMCA recommends sun block and water bottles. Additional water will be provided at camp. No pads/helmets will be issued or worn. Flags will be used for flag football games.

YMCA Shock Quarterback Clinic

Grades 3-8

Work with Spokane Shock quarterbacks on the fundamentals of quarterback play such as footwork, release, drop back, grip and reading the defenses. Fees include a camp T-shirt and ball.

YMCA Shock Kickers & Punters Clinic

Grades 3-12

Join Spokane Shock Kickers to learn the fundamentals of punting and kicking. Players will learn the four drills all kickers need to know for a perfect delivery. Football and soccer players are encouraged to attend. Fees include a camp t-shirt and ball.
