The YMCA Brings Families Closer Together

The YMCA Brings Families Closer Together

Our family loves going to the YMCA! Being so far away from a military base, the YMCA has been a great place for us to not only exercise, but to spend time together having fun. From swimming in the amazing kid friendly pools, to challenging each other in air hockey, or even a basketball shoot off, our family always enjoys our time at the Y. My 4-year-old, Ryan, looks forward to his child care time so much that he keeps me on track to go in and exercise three days a week. He even calls it his “school time” because they always have great activities like crafts, coloring and learning their alphabet, numbers and shapes, and of course, outdoor fun time. The ladies in the North YMCA Child Care Center are absolutely wonderful. I’m so grateful that the YMCA provides such a safe, fun environment for my littlest man to participate in while I focus on my own health and fitness goals. My 7-year-old, Zachary, learned how to swim this summer with the awesome swim lessons offered at the Y. He can proudly swim in the deep end without my help and, now, he anxiously waits for me to take him swimming once a week. I love seeing his confidence when he shows me his skills in the pool. Tyler is 15 years old and takes full advantage of the indoor basketball court. He also loves hanging out in the Teen Center- a place where “only teens” are allowed. Staying active in our family is really important to us, and having a fun place like the YMCA helps bring us closer together as a family.
