Often times a person’s poor first impression can break a relationship before it even begins. Fortunately, this was not the case with Quintin Horseman and Seth Williams of the YMCA Youth Investment program.
When school ends, many children from low-income families lose access to resources important for positive development such as nutritious meals, adult supervision and activities that keep them engaged mentally.
Your YMCA is hosting a Member Event for those that are less fortunate in our community by packing Toys for Tot’s on Sat, Dec 6. Two shifts are available from 9am – Noon and Noon – 3pm. We will meet at the Toys for Tots warehouse (the old Social Security office) at 811 E. Sprague. We will receive, sort, package and label toys for children of underprivileged and/or disadvantaged families. Those ages 10 and up may participate. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. Lunch will be provided at noon for those who serving on the 9am – Noon shift, and at 11:30am for those serving between Noon – 3pm. Register at the Member Services desk to participate and get a t-shirt. T-shirts will be available on the day of the event.
