Camp Reed is a place that allows a "kid to be a kid", experience life in the beautiful outdoors, and the opportunity to learn from our excellent staff and rich program activities. Our staff strives to make sure that each child feels special and comes away with the values and experiences that they may treasure for a lifetime. Camp Reed is accredited by the American Camp Association.
The Mission of Camp Reed
Our mission is to enhance personal growth, Christian values, and a sense of community in a safe wilderness setting. Through active participation in unique challenges and new relationships, Camp Reed transforms ideals into lasting behaviors. We embrace and teach the YMCA's core values of respect, honesty, responsibility, and caring.
YMCA Camp Reed Staff
All summer staff are chosen based on their values, personal goals, desire to serve, skills, and past experience. All staff are First Aid, BBP & CPR certified. Background checks are completed on all YMCA staff and volunteers. During our week long staff training we cover American Camp Association policies and procedures including safety, with an emphasis on the YMCA Camp Reed mission and objectives. Many staff members are former campers and most attend college or work in education or are medical professionals in our community. Our staff is 100% ready to deliver the best experience for your camper.
